What’s your stage name and where are you from?

SKUZELA, born and raised in Argenteuil, QC, Canada

What’s the story behind your stage name?

It’s ispired by a thing that old traditional Québec singers used to say at the end of their songs ” ‘scusez-la” wich means “sorry ’bout that”. I simply changed some letters and came up with SKUZELA. It speaks of my culture and is unique so it’s the best fit for me.

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.

I record everything from home so many background noises can happen. On my latest album you can hear my dog’s tags clinging in the back. I kept it.

What message do you want to convey through your music?

To stay real and true to yourself.

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.

I do everything from home simply with my phone, a microphone and headphones. So everything is a challenge! A funny story is when my wife hid all the Christmas gifts in my studio. I could barely get to my desk but it gave me free soundproofing tho.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?

Eminem. Do I really need to explain myself? He simply is the greatest alive.

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?

Festival appearances would be nice for this summer. We can also expect an other album before the end of 2025…

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?

Having an actual following. I’m an authistic with bad social skills. I need to make connections.
