My stage name is Slick Da Sniper.
What’s the story behind your stage name?
My lyrics and style are like a sniper—patient, accurate, consistent, and deadly. One shot, one kill; turn the beat on, and it’s a done deal.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
My musical journey began with listening to the legends of Hip Hop: Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, KRS-One, LL Cool J, and Run DMC. They all inspired me to become a lyricist. I can’t forget Redman.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
I always start my rhythm off with a hard bar and just go from there. I always name the song after I finish recording it.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
I want the world to know that bars are a part of Hip Hop. Wordplay and competitiveness are essential to the growth of Hip Hop. Slick Da Sniper is Hip Hop.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
I personally never faced any challenges during production. I handle the majority of the production with my beautiful wife.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Wow, great question. I wish I could pick more than one, but I would have to say Rakim.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I see my music steadily progressing and gaining new fans due to great platforms like this.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Staying focused on creating great music, being consistent, and continuing to have fun. The world needs to tune in—I got a lot of bangers in my catalog.
