What’s your stage name and where are you from?
Soul Lion, I from Switzerland
What’s the story behind your stage name?
It’s the power of the lion’s soul – inner strength and the roar of the heart. It symbolizes wisdom, courage, and the light that each of us carries within.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
It’s a journey from the heart to the soul, a quest for truth and light through sound.
It’s a vibrant blend of rap, reggae, and soul, born from deep life challenges and sacred encounters around the world.
Each song is a prayer, a call to reconnect with oneself, with love, and with the dream we carry within.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
My track “Soul Lion” was born in Bali, in an improvised studio with what we had. That magical moment, surrounded by nature, allowed me to channel a new energy, free my voice with the support of my coach Sanga TOTO, and feel a deep connection to my musical mission.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
A message of peace, inner strength, and the freedom to be yourself. I encourage everyone to listen to their heart, believe in their dreams, and cultivate love in a world that can often be harsh.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
The biggest challenge was letting go of perfectionism. I used to want to control everything. Thanks to Sanga TOTO, I’ve learned — and I’m still learning — to trust the creative process, listen to my intuition, and let the magic happen naturally.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Blacko, because he deeply influenced my journey with his conscious and powerful lyrics. He represents an authentic and committed voice that I’ve always identified with.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I see my music traveling across borders, touching new hearts, and opening the doors to festivals, collaborations, and vibrant open-air stages.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Releasing several new singles, including “Pachamama,” and organizing an acoustic tour across Switzerland, France, Bali, and other sacred places to share my music in spaces of reconnection.
