What’s the story behind your stage name?
Authenticity. Tracy Lamont is my first and middle name. I used to go by Capo Young a while back. I made the switch when I started to discover who I am both musically and personally.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
I began my journey as a lyricist and producer driven by storytelling and raw honesty, shaping his sound with influences like Pharrell, Kendrick Lamar, and Common. I’ve steadily built my catalog through independent releases, blending soulful beats with thought-provoking verses that reflect both personal growth and social commentary. I’m still reaching with new music, live performances, and collaborations to push my artistry beyond Dallas into the national hip-hop conversation.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
I have an in-home studio so these days not too much craziness happens in the studio. I like to record first thing in the morning. Most interesting thing that’s happened lately is I shouted out the homie on a track and he called me literally right after.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
I want to remind people they’re not alone. That we all share relatively similar experiences. We all can get better and get through challenges and obstacles to become our greatest selves
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
My managers car was broken into during a performance at SXSW and my laptop was stolen so, I had to start from scratch with everything
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Pharrell, I feel like he knows how to bring the best out of the artist he works with while stretching them passed their comfort zone.

An international tour
