Artist Introduction

What’s your name and where are you from?

U-Neek Jettson from Indiana

What’s the story behind your stage name?

Roughly 10 or more years ago I came up with the name. Not only my music but just who I am. I’ve always been different and been a trendsetter in my own way. That’s what brought me to the name unique. But I wanted it to stand out, also I wanted a Hyphen/dash in my name too. I wanted that to pay homage to Jay-Z which I had all the blueprint CDs and the black album as a kid. The music inspired me. I remember being in the music store going through the CDs and picking it out. But that brought me to U-Neek. The Jettson came from the show “The Jetsons” which I added a T for copyright purposes. I’ve always felt like my music was ahead of its time. Even in 2012 I was blending genres together like hip hop, metal, and dubstep. So Jettson means the future of music. Which created U-Neek Jettson

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.

10 years in the making. Started with lead vocals in bands, to a hip hop group, and now on to a solo alien. The best is yet to come.

Fan Engagement

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.

The way I could really showcase some versatility and new style was really fun. The more I played with the back tracks the cooler it sounded. Artists trying new things with music inspired me to really get back to my roots.

What message do you want to convey through your music?

All of my music I want to be as an expression for many genes, moments, and emotions. Really give people a feeling.

Behind the Music

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.

Honestly a lot has been balancing all of my music out and deciding which EP to drop first

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?

Kanye West. One he’s not afraid to be himself and he is always down to make some revolutionary sound. He is a huge inspiration. I remember the album Yeezy gave me confirmation to not stop making experimental type of music.
