N.U.N.O. (Nuno Fonseca Spínola) launches his musical career with “BomBaGloCk” which presents his uncut artistic philosophy through an honest auditory declaration. The fusion of trap production with N.U.N.O.’s lyrical honesty grants listeners exposure to his multidimensional exploration of existence during survival attempts and his individual expressions.
The core purpose of “BomBaGloCk” functions as his declaration depicting how he believes mainstream hip-hop should have matured. When he delivers his defiant words there is a rebellious quality that resonates through his speaker which stems from influential sources including Public Enemy and N.W.A and Wu-Tang Clan and raw street poetic artists like Ice Cube and Eazy-E. The song carries a mixture of internal examination drawn from his personal obstacles and his perseverance.
N.U.N.O. started his life in Lisbon Portugal when he was born during 1978. His life consists of multiple transformations since his father died when he was four years old and he moved to Rotterdam at age eleven. His academic success did not prevent him from selecting street life over school because he believed the future revolutionaries waited in the streets. Music especially poetry and rhyme sharpened his artistic self because he discovered them as an outlet for self-expression.
However, the road wasn’t easy. His musical inspiration stems from the combination of growing up in the Netherlands and the United States where he lived while experiencing homelessness, getting locked up, spending time in institutions. While undergoing psychiatric treatment he recorded “BomBaGloCk” in the ward where he has resided for almost twenty years. Using basic equipment such as speakers, keyboard and laptop, mic alongside his creativity and determination he produced a song that surpasses his hardships by demonstrating artistic strength in any setting.
