You can feel it when even Virginia herself, her own Ninemansion, gets in the booth and there is that sense that the tone has changed and somebody is telling you something holy. His recent album, Kamioso: Ascended, is an awakening, a complete dramatic transformation narrated by 17 shape-shifting songs that are characterized by trap intensity and emotional self-reflection. This project would be a landmark release by an up-and-coming artist who has nothing to be afraid of using pain, ambition, and faith as holy currency, released on May 30, 2025, on his own label, MansionMuzik.

On initial hearing, Kamioso: Ascended sounds like a tempest in a different realm that is, filmic ambience, dystopian music, and melodies that are suspended between anime fantasy worlds and heart ballads. Still, more than the flash, it is the sense of life that is the most remarkable. The beats breathe. The voice is distorted and elastic as blood. All the songs are like a further mutation of a narrative that is being written – a narrative in which Ninemansion is the hero and antihero, and he is creating his own universe out of the debris of failed love and self-distrust.

The album is inspired by the anime Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, where transformation at the post-time-skip stage is a metaphor of personal development. It is the ideal concept. Similar to Boruto, Ninemansion is not following the footsteps of anybody, he is going into his own step. According to him, every note, every word of the song is ascension with him, and it is all there in the record. It is a confidence in the voice, which is not an ego thing but an evolution thing, the feeling that he has discovered the heart to be unrestrained.

Ninemansion, born in Portsmouth, Virginia, under the name Nicholas Jones, began his career as a producer in 2020, creating beats with an air of heartbreak, euphoria and digital futurism. He did not become a rapper until 2023, but when he did, something came together. His blend of emo-plugg, digicore and modern trap appealed to a generation of anime/808s children. He has already labelled his trademark style as MansionMuzik, a multidimensional mixture of feeling, rhythm, and fantasy that transforms suffering into thrust.

Ninemansion does not sound like a rapper when talking, rather, he sounds more like an architect. His is not the vision of singles, but of world-building. He is already playing with New Life (EP) and My Favorite Stranger (a 21-track debut LP that will be released in December), and this proves that it is just a half of a grander creative tale. The peculiarity of his approach is in the way he balances the aesthetics of the internet-born with the vulnerability. It has the plugg influence of Summrs and the emotional tension of Juice WRLD, but it also has a discipline of a producer every note of melody and reverb has its purpose.

The two of them characterize his work: digital and human, synthetic and heartfelt at the same time. One does not come across many artists, who can move between depressive self-examination and trap bravado in one bar. He takes the heartbreak of the Gen Zers, the lonely DMs, the lost friends, the sleepless ambition, and turns it into self-affirmation. In Kamioso: Ascended, Ninemansion directs all those contradictions into a single experience.

🧇 Tracklist Breakdown

On 17 songs, Kamioso: Ascended is more of a journal and a statement. The very beginning, Resonance, previews the atmosphere at once spacey pads, singing vocals, and the atmosphere of controlled chaos. You are not walking in a record album, you are walking in a window. There, “Favorite Shawty 3” brings in the melodic instinct of Ninemansion: he combines love, temptation and loss into a sudden burst of intensity that is rough but smooth.

One of the most impressive ones on the record is the song called Karma. Its cinematic rhythm and stratified presentation of the conflict between surrender and retaliation seize the ambiance between giving up and resisting. It is this emotional push-and-pull that makes the album so rich. Myself and Keeper present the vocal flexibility of Ninemansion, who can switch between heartbreak and ego without any problem, and Everlast is a brief and yet highly effective meditation on the need to stay focused when all things seem so momentary.

The center of the album, such as songs as Seal, Vortex, Party, etc., seems to be the point of change. The play is made tighter, the script more assertive. Specifically, “Vortex” whirls with future-shock; as though he were rapping in a computer hurricane. But it is all topped with the arrival of “Sacred.” It comes in at 2:27 and is a heavenly hymn that is both exultatory and personal. The harmonies with layers come off like prayer, an ideal depiction of what Ninemansion refers to as ascension.

Subsequent songs such as “Fated” and “Hate Me” revert to a more somber emotional place, bouncing between pessimism and threat. “Doubt” is more of a confessional at the end of the day – one of the most vulnerable tracks of the album. Combining grit-filled emotion and distorted 808s with a beat that hits hard, Shotgun is one of the most replayable songs here. It feels like the conclusion of the story by the end of the album, when Light and Tear finally close it, is based not on failure, but on change. The tears are baptism they make pain beget clarity.
