Is it possible to blend boom-bap aesthetics with delectable jazz whirls, all while rapping about the mundane and somehow making it all sound cool? SoulSeize and Moka Only say, “Why the hell not?” now with their new track “Tune In”.

It’s no secret in the industry that SoulSeize, a Swiss beat wizard with a knack for evoking the golden era of hip-hop, and Moka Only, the Canadian MC known for his prolific discography and versatile flows, are masters in their respective domains. On “Tune In” – part of SoulSeize’s latest album of the same name – they both step out in style.

The track is a beautiful mish-mash of SoulSeize’s hypnotic drum works and swirling horn samples, fueling Moka Only’s laid-back flow which takes seemingly simple topics and transforms them into engaging, head-nodding storytelling. As you dig deeper, you’ll find striking parallels with the cool lo-fi soundscapes that are carving out a niche in the urbanscapes of today’s music scene.

“Tune In” encourages you to do exactly that – tune in to tune out all the noise, and, in this sensory overload that we live in, sometimes that’s something we all need. Throw this one on for a quiet evening at home or during your commute after a long day, it’s a sonic refresher like no other.
