Wilmington, Delaware has always had a complex dual nature- one of tight-knit communities fighting systemic issues, creativity and resilience finding cracks in the concrete. Hailing out of this background is rapper Edubb302, whose music reads more as a documentary than anything at all entertainment oriented. His new single, Hood Prayer (released July 25, 2025), is both an the anthem and a prayer, drawing on the realities of life in the hood but spreading to the general experience of people trying to achieve a higher place despite factors that tend to keep them right where they are.

The appearance of Edubb302 is established in his hometown-recording in Wilmington, using words and syntax to tell his story, and to speak directly to the listener with a focus that makes it apparent; this is not a passing fad, this is a declaration to bring up-to-date the apple, not the pie. His songbook is tilted towards contemplation and power, but it is with critical motives of the song that one feels an urgency in the song, especially the song, Hood Prayer. It is a theme song to any survivor out there in the trenches working and not just living but living with a purpose.
