What’s your stage name and where are you from?
2 Padres (Dos Padres)
What’s the story behind your stage name?
Dos Padres’ (@officialdospadres) is more of an idea than an actual thing you can touch…
We are an online space that encourages creativity, comedy, music and fatherhood. To us, a dad is more than just a father figure, it’s a state of mind, and sometimes, one dad just isn’t enough. Our group is led by Brent Lydic (@brentlydic) and Bill Posley (@billposley) and super producer Marc Solomon (@HeySolo)
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
What started out as a comedy sketch group quickly became focused on comedy music with groups such as The Lonely Island, Flight of the Concords, Tenacious D and Lil Dickey as major influences. Our goal is to bring back the silly and believe that it’s needed now more than ever.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
We recorded our last two singles (Cheater B***h and Give Us The Precious) for the hit Emmy nominated show Shrinking on Apple TV. We were thrilled that our music was able to be apart of such a brilliant show. Both songs were written specifically for the show and incorporated into the storylines. Harrison Ford even sang the chorus of our song in one of the episodes in Season 2!
What message do you want to convey through your music?
That you are never too old to be silly. Comedy as the unique ability to break down barriers and combined with music we feel like we can bring more joy to the world.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
So many artists we would love to collaborate with but are inspired most by 90s hip hop and R&B. Of course would also love to do a song with Weird Al (the godfather of comedy music), Tenacious D or Lil Dickey.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
We are aiming to release our 2nd album this summer and are currently in the writing process of 10 new original songs.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
We really want to start performing live and create an entire comedy show incorporating our songs.
Where can we hear/watch your most recent work?
You can find our latest singles and our debut album (Grown Up Babies) on Spotify/Apple Music and on YouTube, both under 2 Padres.
