What’s your stage name and where are you from?

Airis Xavier and I was born in Kansas City, Missouri but moved to Miami, Florida at a young age. I spent time in both cities during childhood into adulthood.

What’s the story behind your stage name?

Airis Xavier is actually my first and middle name that was given to me at birth.

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.

My 13 year musical journey is the ripened fruit of many years of watered seeds, and flowers turned trees. I feel like I grew as long as I believed, planted the seeds and was watered properly (by myself primarily). The more I set the intention to inspire and embrace who I was in the moment; the easier it was to be in flow and get to where I am today. And I mean physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and musically.

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.

M.S.M.C was pretty easy and effortlessly put together. I had an amazing engineer who has a lot of experience in the industry working with many different artists. I usually show up to a studio session prepared and this one felt like my origin story. So I knew that I had to bring that energy, passion and cadence. When I hopped on the microphone to perform the first bar: “Let me take you back when the story began…”, the rest just pieced together quickly like the easiest puzzle board in the world.

What message do you want to convey through your music?

In my music, I want to convey that no matter where you are at the moment, there is always a way to get to where you’re trying to go. I intend to show you that way is not necessarily a place but a state of being. Be here, be now, take it one day at a time. You already are what you dream of.

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.

The only challenge I can think of was making sure my energy stayed on point as we recorded the entire track. Everything was performed by me but my engineer gave me some great advice and suggestions on how to amplify what I had already done.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?

I would collaborate with a ton of artists man. But most certainly ones I connect with on a level much deeper than just music. I understand it’s a business at the end of the day but I truly value genuine connections first. In my opinion, the best music is created that way. But if I can pinpoint one artist it would definitely be Big Sean. For one, he’s always been one of my top favorite artists but I admire Sean’s commitment to himself and service to the world. Even beyond music. His catalog portrays the perfect balance of meaningful lyrics and just having pure fun. I feel this is how not only music but how life should be. Focused on being meaningful but ultimately fun.

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?

Ehhh there is some unreleased music but also specific a specific song I’m pretty excited about. But I’m not gonna speak on it too much yet. I got something very special on the way very soon! Something fresh, new, and that I’ve never done before! I’m about to be everywhere you look! Stay tuned!

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?

I am stepping into Airis Xavier fully realized! I am not the artist I was last year, last month, last week or even just yesterday.

Where can we hear/watch your most recent work?

Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, I know that Deezer is a new one. My tracks are just about anywhere. Just Google Airis Xavier.
