What’s your stage name and where are you from?

My stage name is Ángel and I’m from Long Island, New York.

What’s the story behind your stage name?

My stage name is based around my real name, which is Angel. The accent mark on Ángel to both a halo, as well as my hispanic heritage.

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.

I was a battle rapper before I wrote my first song. My music started out secular before I re-dedicated my life to God. I now use my music to spread the gospel.

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.

I came up with the idea while getting ready for work! Came up with the hook within minutes. First time I had the idea for the hook before finding the right beat.

What message do you want to convey through your music?

I want to share my testimony through my music. I want to encourage and inspire people to live for Jesus.

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.

Wasn’t 100% on what I wanted the hook to sound like. My engineer and I experimented with me redoing the hook with difference volumes and accents, to give it a more full sound.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?

I would love to collaborate with Jon Bellion! We went to the same college and I’m a huge fan of his music. He can pretty much do it all! Huge fan of his sound.

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?

I see more press releases. I see more performances and collaborations.

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?

I would say touring! To be performing more frequently would be a big step.
