My name is AtmBurks, and I’m from Springfield, Missouri.
What’s the story behind your stage name?
I’m simply after the money—everybody’s chasing hype and chasing hoes, but I just want my money, that’s it.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
Growing up, I would freestyle a lot and joke around with the idea. When I got into high school, I really started getting decent at freestyling, so it was only a matter of time before I hopped in the booth. My guy KB had a setup you could hook up to the phone, and we just took off from there.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
I made “IDK” at like 4 am, and I didn’t know what to say because I was so high. I started the song with “I really really don’t know,” freestyled the rest, and kept it because I thought it flowed.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
I try to influence my listeners to be themselves and understand that everyone goes through something. If you stay low, fall in love with the process, and keep going, you will win.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
One time, I was working with this dude who wasn’t doing his job, so I walked out. We’ll just leave it at that.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Rod Wave because he’s versatile, and our flows would mesh well together.
