My stage name is Sal Wringer, and I am from Los Angeles, California.

What’s the story behind your stage name?
In high school, my nickname was Salamander, which eventually got shortened to Sal. My brother, who also made music, thought it would be cool to add Wringer after Sal. I did too.

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
Music is my outlet to express my life experiences and the positive journey I’m on now. I went through a lot of tough times, but it all happened for a reason. Now my life is completely different, and I am honoring my mom, who was a creative and recently passed away.

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
When I was making the track, I did the sample and drums first. Then I added piano and strings, and I found a dope melody—it just came to me while playing and worked perfectly.

What message do you want to convey through your music?
It’s possible to be in a tough place in life and come out the other side with a changed perspective. Hard work and consistency are key; creativity is just the first part.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Russ, because I’ve always loved his music and his message about success in life.

I see myself being able to support myself through my music, going on tour, and finishing my debut album.

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Working on my debut album!
