What’s your stage name and where are you from?

BADMAN_CZAR, from the South

What’s the story behind your stage name?

The name suggests that my music mixes raw, underground energy with regal production or deep themes. This name suits genres like grime, trap, hip-hop, drill, or dancehall, especially if your lyrics blend toughness with intelligence or socio-political commentary. “Badman” often comes from Caribbean or UK slang, meaning a tough, respected individual — someone who commands presence, doesn’t back down, and maybe bends rules. It can carry street credibility and rebellion.
“Czar” (or Tsar) is a title for an emperor — suggesting power, control, and influence at a grand level. Combined, “badman_czar” could symbolize:

A street king with empire-level vision. Someone who rose from the gritty to the godlike — blending rawness with royalty.

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.

I started making music as an outlet — turning pain, pressure, and street stories into rhythm and rhyme. Over time, I found my voice: raw but calculated, mixing underground grit with sharp perspective. Now, as badman_czar, I create not just to be heard, but to reign — building an empire from every bar I drop.

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.

I was in the studio and wanted to create something better than my last hit GOL’ T33, I heard the instrumental by sensational and I knew this song was a banger cause I was just free styling

What message do you want to convey through your music?

Hope and guidance through life struggles

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.

One of the biggest challenges I faced during the production of my latest track “Scooby Doo” was getting the right balance between the playful vibe I wanted and the hard-hitting sound my fans expect from me.I realized I needed a fresh perspective, so I took a break and listened to some classic cartoon soundtracks for inspiration. That’s when I got the idea to sample a quirky sound effect and layer it subtly under the main hook. It brought the fun, nostalgic energy I was looking for, without losing the track’s edge.
Overcoming that challenge taught me the importance of stepping back and letting creativity flow, instead of forcing it. Sometimes, the solution is just a new perspective (and maybe a little bit of cartoon mischief).

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?

If I could collaborate with any artist, it would have to be Flying Lotus. His ability to blend experimental electronic music with jazz and hip-hop influences is just mind-blowing. I’ve always admired how he pushes boundaries and creates these immersive soundscapes that take you on a journey.
My own music often plays with unconventional sounds and rhythms, so I think our styles would complement each other really well. Imagine the kind of sonic textures we could create together! Plus, I’m always looking to learn from other innovative producers, and Flying Lotus is definitely at the top of that list. A collaboration with him would be a dream come true!

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?

In the next year, I see my music reaching a wider audience, pushing into new sonic territories, and solidifying my unique sound. I’m planning to experiment more with blending genres, incorporating live instrumentation into my electronic productions, and diving deeper into visual elements to create immersive live performances. I want my music to be more than just something you listen to—I want it to be an experience that engages all the senses. Plus, I’m aiming to collaborate with more artists from different backgrounds, which will hopefully bring fresh perspectives and sounds into my work

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?

The next big step for me as an artist is to expand my reach through more high-profile collaborations and to develop a distinctive live performance setup that truly represents my sound and energy. I want to create immersive experiences that connect with audiences on a deeper level, blending visual art and music production in real time. This will not only showcase my growth as a producer but also help me build a stronger, more engaged fanbase. Additionally, I’m focused on refining my style and pushing creative boundaries to keep evolving and surprising listeners.
