What’s the story behind your stage name?
i’m a self healer so that’s where the name D.O.C came from and i’m always at practice so i came up with D.O.C The Practitioner
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
i started out just writing rhymes for fun and then i later discovered that I have a deep passion for it
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
create my latest track. I really felt. I was speaking to someone personally and they were right there in front of me. I never had that experience before it was surreal.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
that you’re never out of the game and don’t ever get too down on yourself when things are not looking bright. It’s just a moment in life and good times will come again. You have to trust the process.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
I found myself having a hard time getting the right mix for this song. It took a couple of tries, but I finally achieve the goal.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
oh, I would love to collaborate with J. Cole. I think he’s a phenomenal artist. I think J. Cole brings a lot of dynamics to his work and it’s very versatile and at the same time has a consciousness to his art.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I think my music will be more global and well known internationally next year
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
To do more performances, show my face a lot more interact more with my fans physically i’m also seeking opportunities for placements in commercials and movies
