Efi Cruise, from Calabar, Nigeria.
What’s the story behind your stage name?
My first name is Efiom, short form Efi, and I am a Cruise guy.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
For the most part, it has been a trip, lots of self-discovery, joy, agony, the whole nine. Loving every bit of it.

Recording the session musicians is always a lot of fun for me; my guys are super talented. I feel like a kid in a candy store when I am with them.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
“Efi Cruise propagates a way of life which can be summed up in the phrase ‘Live and Let Live.’ You may walk the surface of the earth with a genuine belief that you are the way, the truth, and the light. However, you should understand that some people are not looking for a way, most people want absolutely nothing to do with the truth, and there’s a few who know they are in the dark and are fine with it. Hence, ‘Live and let Live.’ I am of the belief that it is important for people, especially leaders, to understand this, in order to avoid a totalitarian system in society.”
Behind the Music
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
I am in Nigeria, so most of the problems come as a result of bad governance; issues with electricity, connectivity, etc. To be honest, I overcame them by just waiting, lol, and using my generator.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Kelly Rowland. She seduced me when I was a baby.

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
Wherever it takes me.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Finishing this track I am working on; it is called Indigo at the moment. Some sweet, sweet stuff.
