What’s your stage name and where are you from?
My stage name is Goldiloxxx666. I’m from Vancouver, B.C., Canada.
What’s the story behind your stage name?
I can’t remember the exact moment when I came up with my stage name. I think I was in Victoria at the time, visiting my buddies at UVIC in 2019. We were starting a rap group, and they told me I needed an alias.
I remember thinking about what unique attributes I had that would stand out. I decided on “Goldiloxxx” because of my long blonde curly hair and thought it could push boundaries. When I started releasing music in early 2024, “Goldiloxxx” was already taken on most platforms. So, in a quick decision, I added “666” for an edgy vibe, which has worked out well. Now, I’m creating my first album themed around the “666” idea, aligning with my rebellious nature.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
In high school, I disliked rap music until my friends introduced me to its vibe. I wrote my first feature with friends in the group but didn’t pursue it seriously as they prioritized their studies. Eventually, I stopped making excuses and completed my first song alone, proving to myself I could create without anyone else’s support.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
I spent around two hours crafting one bar with 15 words. It went through 100-200 word variations and positions until everything fit perfectly.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
I hope listeners enjoy the range of messages in my music, from philosophical ideas to hyped-up energy or self-love. My primary focus is always on making sure the music sounds good.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
For the longest time, I was uncomfortable with how my voice sounded in recordings. I overcame this by discovering an app called Spire, which adjusted my voice tone to what I wanted. It gave me the confidence to embrace my voice, even without autotune.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Big Sean. He’s my favorite rapper, we share the same first name, and his talent combined with his beats are incredible.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I’m hoping to gain enough momentum by the summer or fall of this year to perform live for the first time. I also plan to release my debut album, “6 Sin’s,” which is themed around “666.”
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
The next big step for me would be receiving unsolicited messages from fans or collaborators. It’s the best feeling when someone takes the time to share genuine appreciation for something I’ve created.
