Growing up my friends eventually turned into drug dealers while i was on the rise of being a rugby star…they’re also started smoking and thats when i had to distance myself as a athlete

What message do you want to convey through your music?

I want to inspire…everyone goes through a lot but it’s all about striving. I want people to understand that everyone’s time to shine will come, not at same time as our blessings are not the same. Keep on doing what you do and never lose faith. Tables turn and in the meantime stay strong as your hope is what will lead you to the gold.

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.

Money has been a problem. I only started rapping at the age of 15 so getting my own equipment was so difficult. That required me to save my allowance which my parents give me every month instead of having fun with other kids as kids. And as soon as I realised that I have to upgrade the studio now and then it was really emotionally draining for me as a kid I couldn’t really enjoy my money. But then I knew what my dream is and that’s what kept me pushing. I never really lost hope.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?

YoungstaCPT because with his extravagant rhymes and experience in the music industry I could learn a lot from him through our collaboration, I look up to him and his one of the reasons why I got that drive in me.

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?

Working with well known artists in my country having 5-10 gigs a year.

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?

I got an EP coming up call “Baks Fill Me Up” as I tell a short story that will fulfill people’s hopes in life in whatever you’re doing. I will be working with underground artists all around South Africa which will allow me to see more places as well as making music that people hasn’t heard before. I’ll be working with California producers as well as UK producers too which I’m excited about.

Where can we hear/watch your most recent work?
