What’s your stage name and where are you from?
Lil Sid * Wisconsin
What’s the story behind your stage name?
Growing up playing sports and in life I was always the smaller guy on the field or court and that kind of gave me the nickname “little sid” and after awhile it stuck and become my name representing no matter where life puts me I’ll always rise to the occasion
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
I could describe this journey as inspiring considering everyone can relate to having a dream and wanting to chase it. This started as something I was doing for fun but later became a way to escape. It became my therapy.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
I think the most interesting experience recentlyis getting my fiance involved in the last project to voice lines and create the atmosphere of being in a therapy seisson and tell this story the way I want.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
I want to convey that no one in this world is alone with dreams. No matter what it is you’re going through, someone else in life is experiencing something similar and wants for something. I want to bring people together and show we all have something we’re fighting against and for.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
I think the biggest challenge I faced recently is trying to regain the same traction I had a few years dropping songs for fun with minimum stories compared to dropping an album opening up about the last 4-5 years and my struggles.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Nino Paid. Personally recently I’ve looked up to the music he’s been releasing and the stories he’s been telling. It’s pure passion and real but told in a way so it sounds beautiful and addictive on a song.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I definitely want to build a bigger fan base than the Midwest and maybe down the road starting booking more shows. I want to release more music but I feel like I’ve already released so much that i haven’t touched on that I should. So I kind of want to step back and focus on promotion too.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
I think the next big step is focusing on building a cult type fanbase so shows and everything else come naturally.
