What’s your stage name and where are you from?
Jonny Blanco, and I’m from Framingham.
What’s the story behind your stage name?
My name is Jon White, haha. I was spending so much time trying to think of a name to use. I wanted to go by JW, but it seemed too minimal, so one day Jonny Blanco popped into my head. I think because my family used to call me Jonny Boy.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
Lots of ups and downs. Met some great people and friends. Was able to express myself like never before, on my own accord.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
A close friend asked me to make a song about them/for them.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
Growth. Perseverance. Idk, it’s open to interpretation!
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
Multiple times I convinced myself I had writer’s block/producer’s block and kept trying for an hour/hours and ended up making something I still enjoy now.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Travis Scott or Mac Miller (RIP).
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
To a better space mentally, hopefully some sort of shows/recognition elsewhere.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Videography, maybe singing.
