What’s the story behind your stage name?
It is the name my parents, friends and family have always called me.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
It all started with Drums in Church, then i was Inspired to play guitar by the John Mayer Trio Live in Los Angeles, and ultimately my musical career path began with life changing events in Kathmandu Nepal.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
I was listening to a friends YouTube algorithm which was playing some sounds from Zelda Covering the game itslef. I used some of that sound as inspiration to create the track “Sun Valley link type Beat” which is track 5 on JoyBoy 1
What message do you want to convey through your music?
Love, Understanding, self expressionism and creativity. Create your own path, collaborate freely, and be open to where sounds can take you.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
Working with many artists to bring a project together can be tough, but because of Covid limiting how often artists in my community could perform in Texas, i pivoted us to working on crafting tracks in the studio rather than performing them.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Saba or Cisco Swank. They are my most recent inspirations whose music i love. They’re lyrically and instrumentally gifted, and i feel like they don’t compromise their vision to create amazing art.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I will be investing more in visual pieces and releasing performance visuals. I see the music as a way to spread a positive message in these dark times.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Getting a distribution deal, or doing a nationwide, or international tour run opening up for a much bigger act than me.
