What’s your stage name and where are you from?

Santa Sallet from Roseau, Dominica but I currently rep the DMV

What’s the story behind your stage name?

Cause I’m the snowman

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.

I didn’t want to get trapped by a bad label deal so I decided to persevere as an independent artist. My first album, Plutography, is about my successes and failures in this endeavor. All in all, I released my album the way I wanted, so I think it was a success.

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.

Every track is an interesting experience. I always write my songs at the most random of times and I am always pushing myself creatively to try new things and develop my style. Most recently, I wanted to work on my “trappier” flows and wrote the song “Money and Dash”. Coupled with my new studio setup and plugins, I made a banger which I was happy with immediately (which is rare lol).

What message do you want to convey through your music?

Follow your dreams. Reach for the stars. Go for gold. Who knows where it will take you, but there is only one way to find out.

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.

I think the biggest challenge I had to overcome was getting the work done quickly. I would sometimes hit the studio and then come back 4 months later to finish a track cause I got so caught with everything else. I learnt that you really gotta fully finish your project before you drop it. I’m talking, recording, mixing, mastering, graphics, and promotion plan. It is a lot of work, but it will make the roll out so much easier and allow you to take a break rather than trying to build the car as you drive it.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?

Busta Rhymes. His flow is unparalleled and he inspired me to start rapping. I would also like to rap with Lil Wayne. He is quite the beast and I would enjoy testing mettle. I would also love to work with Kanye West just to witness his process. I think he thinks in the right way–Grand.

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?

I want to drop 100 songs this year, but I will be happy with 50 lol. I’m dropping Plutography II, Plutomania, MSP Tunes, and C*R*E*A*M*, so I got 4 albums ready in the cut for you.

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?

Releasing music consistently. I am ready to be known far and wide as an underground artist.

Where can we hear/watch your most recent work?
