What’s your stage name and where are you from?
My name is Spitfire Sparks, and I’m from Phoenix, Arizona.

What’s the story behind your stage name?
My last name is Sparks, so naturally, I was always trying to think of something to play into that. This name proved to be a nice double entendre by being both the name and an explanation of what I do.

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
Like any great journey in life, my journey in music has been long with many ups and downs, but incredibly rewarding for myself. It has taught me consistency, innovation, time management, and a plethora of new skills I didn’t have prior. When you are turning your dreams into your reality, nothing is quick, nothing is easy, but everything is worth it.

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
My latest track “Twenty Twenty Flow” has been my mantra for the year instead of 2024. It’s all about opening myself up to allowing opportunities to happen, seizing them when they do, and allowing things to flow.

What message do you want to convey through your music?
My message and motto for music have always been to spread positivity and “Ignite Your Mind.” Whether it’s music to inspire you, excite you, make you reflect, or anything in between, it always focuses on bringing a message and engaging your mind with what’s really happening in the music.

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
Being an independent musician, I have learned to do many steps of the process myself. This has always been an ongoing obstacle of trying to figure out which parts can be managed by self and which parts to allocate limited funding to execute properly.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Eminem has been an inspiration for my whole life, so that would obviously be a crazy moment for me musically. Also, message-wise, I would love to collaborate with Logic, NF, Hopsin, or Tech N9ne. Everyone on this list is exceptional at adding deeper layers of meaning behind the words on the track.

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I don’t perceive to have the answers honestly, but rest assured, I am along for the ride and not letting up anytime soon.

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Honestly, I feel like the next big step is just the breakout. I finally have a catalog long enough for people to deep dive; I have multiple albums that I think are solid from start to finish, and now it’s really focusing on increasing the reach and audience.

We occasionally feature artists on our Bird of Paradise Podcast for in-depth discussions. Would this be something you’re interested in exploring?
Sure, let me know!

Are there any other promotional opportunities you’re looking for to boost your visibility?
Not necessarily.
