What’s your stage name and where are you from?
The name is Survinylist, and I’m from Nokia, Finland.
What’s the story behind your stage name?
I used to be a crazy prepper in the early 2000s with a studio full of vinyl records and a bunker setup. Vinylist + Survivalist = Survinylist.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
It started in the dark icy woods of central Finland during the golden era of boombap. My love for dusty, raw hip-hop grew deep. It’s been a long, winding road to a career in music.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
It was born during a 20-kilometer bike trip in the middle of the night.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
Consistency pays off. Don’t sell your soul.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
I work full-time in a studio producing for others and teaching in an audio college, so personal music creation is often constrained. But hard work always pays off.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
I’d like to say Madlib, but I’ll go with Alchemist—his cinematography combined with music is something we share in common.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I must create a breakthrough track like Hanumankind’s Big Dawgs.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Creating a breakthrough banger.
We occasionally feature artists on our Bird of Paradise Podcast for in-depth discussions. Would this be something you’re interested in exploring?
Yes.
Are there any other promotional opportunities you’re looking for to boost your visibility?
The label will contact you through SubmitHub.
Where can we hear/watch your most recent work?
My track Fire Flowers releases on Saturday, October 12th, on YouTube via Good Things Records. You can also check it out on DistroKid.
What is the best way to contact you if fans want to give feedback or if other artists/producers want to collaborate?
Leave a comment on YouTube—Good Things Records.

Hello! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any issues with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing months of hard work due to no backup. Do you have any solutions to protect against hackers?
This is the right blog for anyone who wants to find out about this topic. You realize so much its almost hard to argue with you (not that I actually would want…HaHa). You definitely put a new spin on a topic thats been written about for years. Great stuff, just great!
