What’s your stage name and where are you from?
Zov.yay! – the exclamation point is optional. Born and raised in Massachusetts.
What’s the story behind your stage name?
I lived around the country a bit, but the most special of my times were the 6yrs of living in West Los Angeles. – My first roommate was French, and he would call me ‘Zov’ as an abbreviation for my real name, Xavier. From then on, a select few people began to call me ‘Zov’. – There’s an alternate spelling, where I swap the Z for 2, 2ov. That meaning is for me to know and you to find out. 🙂
But all in all: Zov.yay = Xavier with some cool on it.

In the booth, no pad, no pen. Just me and myself, inside the music. It’s become a part of the way I create.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
Your authentic self has so much range & ability, that if expressed, it may be perceived as odd. Don’t be discouraged.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
Not a challenge really, but I found that it can be easy to slowly slip into styles, sound, and themes that we hear in music everyday. – I had to keep myself in check and make sure I kept true to self.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
I’d entertain making music with anyone making music infused with love, in some way.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I see my music taking me into a new era of selflessness, and having care for others.
