Christopha, a multifaceted artist hailing from East and North London, embodies the spirit of a Rapper, Writer, and Relentless Dreamer. Initially recognized as a grime MC during the genre’s early era, he has undergone a transformative journey in both sound and professional endeavors. Graduating with a first-class degree, excelling as a business leader in the tech industry, and earning nods from legendary UK rappers like Ty (Rest in Power) and Skinnyman, Christopha’s evolution is as diverse as his artistry.
In 2020, he marked his presence with the release of the Hidden EP, gaining recognition as a Future Name by BBC Introducing in Beds, Herts, and Bucks. Now, with the 26 Miles and Running project, Christopha continues to build on his success, unleashing a musical marathon with a new single dropping every two weeks throughout the year. “Back of the Bus” serves as the crowning achievement of Christopha’s ambitious 26 Miles and Running project, concluding a year of consistent releases with a reflective and celebratory tone. The title itself carries a dual metaphor, reminiscing about joyful moments in adolescence spent at the back of the bus, juxtaposed with historical struggles where black individuals faced segregation, relegated to the back in the US and restricted from driving buses in the UK. The song encapsulates a journey from humble beginnings (starting the year with zero monthly listeners on Spotify) to overcoming obstacles with persistence (releasing two songs per week) and inching towards the forefront of the music scene.
