“LO Malo,” which translates to “the bad,” is a sonic journey through the streets of Miami, infused with the unmistakable flair of Thirstin Howl The 3rd and Grupo HNE’s signature style. With DJ Exes on the mic, DJ Heron on production, and multi-instrumentalist Nando adding his magic touch, the track delivers an immersive experience that captivates from start to finish.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the song, DJ Exes reveals, “Thirstin picked the beat, which reminded me of a 70’s gangster/spy type movie. I attacked it from the perspective of a trench coat-wearing, aviator sunglasses-rocking, cigar-smoking salsero, writing an entry in his journal, which will one day be a best-seller. Once my verse was done, I sent it off to Thirstin, and he bodied it like the beat killer that he is. All that was left was for Nando to lace it with congas to give it that chef’s kiss. The result is… LO Malo.”
