Montreal-based collective 110% is kicking off the year with Steppin’ on Toes, a track that feels as bold as its title suggests. Blending hypnotic melodies with layered vocal performances, the single is an exploration of vulnerability and connection. The instrumentation is a striking blend of saxophone accents, shimmering synths, and glitchy effects that create an otherworldly yet intimate backdrop. Kee’s mantra-like chorus loops through the composition, leaving a lasting impression, while Luca Scott’s emotive delivery paints vivid memories of a past love. Adding to the complexity, Third’s autotuned verses and the rap duo’s measured cadence bring raw storytelling to the forefront.
Scheduled for release on January 19th, Steppin’ on Toes is the latest creation from 110%, a supergroup formed by childhood friends Kee, Sahm, Do Couts, Milena, and Luca Scott. Growing up skating the streets of Montreal, gaming, and diving deep into anime, the group built a bond that transcends friendship and bleeds into their music. Drawing from their shared experiences, cultural roots, and cityscape influences, their music feels like a deeply personal reflection of the world around them.
