New Jersey bar-spitter Wes Nihil felt compelled to remind the world that he hasn’t forgotten where his story began, the lawless concrete jungle of Newark‘s South Street, the same place HBO presented in the critically acclaimed documentary “Life Of Crime”. Wes links with flourishing beat-scientist, Stu Bangas, to deliver “It Is What It Is”, an ode to his hard-knock origins and a sonic alter constructed to remember all the loved ones he has lost along the way. The visuals, directed by All I Know Is Goon‘s John L., accurately capture an unscripted view of Newark, NJ while Wes Nihil carries out a lyrical slaughter full of passion and pain. Wes spoke further about “It Is What It Is”, adding “It is not simply about remembering where you come from.
