Growing up everyone loved the flash and style of hip hop music but as I dove into the industry myself I realized that the reality isn’t like they show you on TV.
This made me think of infomercials and how things are promoted in general. This song is a nod to the reality of the music industry and a warning that it’s not for the faint of heart.
It’s not like they sell you on the TV.
The line “I just show up and I hope the muse meets me” pays homage to one of the books that changed artistic life called “The War of Art”. Highly recommended.
