Sway Burr, a Connecticut-based rapper, stands out in the hip-hop scene with his distinctive approach to vibrant, bounce-driven production. Emerging as one of the most promising artists of the 2020s, Burr’s musical journey began in the late 2000s. Coming home from middle school, he would create mashups on a platform called Jamglue, which unfortunately got taken down in 2010. Despite the setback, positive feedback fueled Burr’s passion for music.

Entering the 2010s, Burr started filling his notebooks with rhymes as a freshman, drawing inspiration from icons like Lil Wayne and Kanye West. Fascinated by the success of artists such as Soulja Boy, Gucci Mane, Max B, and Kid Cudi through the internet, Burr carved his path. In the late 2010s, he gained online recognition by uploading songs and mashups on Soundcloud, accumulating over 3 million streams.

Burr’s musical journey reached a milestone in January 2018 with the release of his debut album, “Sway’s Universe, Vol. 1: Heartless Mess,” followed by the sequel, “Sway’s Universe, Vol. 2: Darkside,” a year later. In 2020, Burr continued to make waves with two more albums, “Soss” and “Soss 2 (The Story of Stress & Sorrow),” drawing inspiration from the production style of Pi’erre Bourne. The “SOSS” album series stands as Burr’s most recognized work to date, with “Soss 3” being the standout installment. His latest album, “Sorry for Next Summer,” was released in 2023.
