About the Artist
Cleveland-born Matthew Leeb, known professionally as Werdperfect, began his journey in hip-hop as a teenager, performing with the group Anti Biter Coalition. Influenced by artists from the underground scene, such as MF DOOM and Aesop Rock, he opened for various legends while perfecting his craft across stages in the Midwest. After relocating to Los Angeles, Leeb continued to refine his unique sound, leaning heavily into the classic boom-bap feel that comes from his use of the MPC 2000xl. Raised in a home rich with music, thanks to his rock guitarist father and Beatles-obsessed mother, his deep appreciation for blending past and present shines through in every beat and bar.
