What’s your stage name and where are you from?
I go by KidShazam, and I’m originally Persian but currently reside in Spain!
What’s the story behind your stage name?
When I was 13 years old, I was (still am) into superheroes, which led me to the hero Shazam. I really liked this character as the attitude resonated with me as a kid. Since Flash had a sidekick called Kid Flash and I used to play hero, I came up with my own hero “KidShazam.” My grandmother even sewed a custom costume for me, and it was something very special. The nickname stuck, and even my friends started calling me “Kid” or “Shaz,” so I knew it had to be my artist name.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
Every song is an aspect of my life, from depression to happiness—I started writing to vent, really. In 2020, I was lucky enough to get a SkyDxddy feature for free after a contest (recorded with my phone; I didn’t even have a mic), which inspired me to keep making music. The engagement of the fans and how I was helping people motivated me to become an artist.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
I used to write my songs after important events in my life; however, the creative process has changed. Lately, I just choose a beat I’m feeling and record on the fly (usually on weed, not gonna lie). My latest track was “GOAT TALK” with Lil Wayne. This song had both written and freestyled parts since I had to bring my A-game to keep up with a legend like Wayne.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
Emotions! I don’t want my music to be just songs. I want to make the listener feel and experience the tracks, whether it’s a sad song helping to cope with certain issues, an energetic song to fire people up, or lyrical songs that make the listener think. Overall, the goal is to make listeners feel the music.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
I never had support for my music, and money was tight, so I had to record on my phone. I started working at the age of 16 to pay for a mic and a full setup. I produce all the vocals myself, and honestly, I just got to industry standards in 2023. It took a while, but I learned mostly from my big artist friends and YouTube videos.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
There are a lot of artists on my mind since I make rap, rock, and pop music. If I had to say one artist right now, it would be YUNGBLUD because I already have a song written for us to make.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
Honestly, I don’t know, but I know the quality is good, and I’m excited to show the world what I have in the vault. All I know is that it will push my sound and audience further, and hopefully, to virality.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Release the projects that I have in stock and start planning shows and concerts!
Where can we hear/watch your most recent work?
Spotify.
What is the best way to contact you if fans want to give feedback or if other artists/producers want to collaborate?
My Instagram DMs or my email: kidshazammusic@gmail.com. However, it has to be professional and not the typical “collab bro.”
